caramel apple place card

directions

  • Place your caramel apple into the large clear cello bag.
  • Use 6” length of black twine to tie the cello bag closed around the stick directly above the apple.
  • Repeat with the second 6” length of twine. Leave ends loose. Do not trim.
  • Trim the excess bag around the stick with your scissors, leaving approximately 1/2” of excess cellophane above the black twine.
  • Create a bow with the mandarin satin ribbon:
    a. Cut a 6” length of ribbon and create a loop. Adhere the ends together with double-sided tape.
    b. Cut a 2” length of ribbon and create another loop going the other direction around the first loop. Center the second loop on the first loop. Using double-sided tape, adhere this loop to the first loop on one side only.
    c. Cut a 5” length of ribbon. Cut both ends to create a snake tongue edge. Fold this piece in half at an angle. Using double-sided tape, adhere this to your loops and adhere with double-sided tape to the apple directly over the knot in the twine.
  • Cut a 3 x 1.5” rectangle from the green tea cardstock with an x-acto knife.
  • Wrap the 24” length of twine around the green card stock as many times as you want and tie a knot.
  • Using a graphics program or Microsoft Word, type your guest’s name in a script font.
  • Print out your names on the white text paper, using an orange ink color. Cut out each name, our names are on a 2 x 1” piece of text.
  • Place the striped ribbon behind the stick and the green cardstock piece in front of the stick and adhere with double-sided tape.
  • Weave nametag in and out of the black twine, to assure it stays in place.
  • For a cute final touch, place the caramel apple place card on top of a chartreuse scallop card!

directions

  • Using a graphics program or Microsoft Word, type out your invitation text in a sans serif font (we used Helvetica Light). To add an elegant touch, we mixed our type using all capitals but started the first line with a script letter. We also used an orange ink color.
  • Place the text in the lower right corner of the page leaving a minimum of 2.75” for the ribbon at the top.
  • Set your “page” to be 4 x 6. This will allow you to print two invitations per 8.5 x 11 sheet. Print out your invitation and cut to size.
  • Cut down the green tea cardstock with an x-acto knife to 4.75 x 6.75” and adhere directly centered on the 5 x 7” piece of sunstone text paper with double-sided adhesive.
  • Adhere the printed invitation directly centered on the green tea cardstock with double-sided adhesive.
  • Take the striped ribbon and wrap it around the top of the invitation leaving approximately 0.25” or white showing above the ribbon.
  • Adhere the ribbon to the back of the invitation. Then adhere the invitation centered on the black envelopment.
  • Using a graphics program or Microsoft Word, type out the word “Boo” in a script font approximately 1.5” in width. You will need two of these for each invitation. For a creative twist, we made one card have orange text on white paper and the other white text in an orange printed box.
  • Print out and cut each to 1.75” squares.
  • Adhere one of the “Boo” squares on the right side of the striped ribbon.
  • Cut a 2” square from the green tea card stock and adhere the second “Boo” square onto the green tea square
  • Finish by closing the envelopment and adhere the green tea square to the outer flap to serve as a sealing square for your invitation.

directions

  • Fill the medium cellophane bag with 1 1/2 cups of candy corn. Tie a 3” piece of natural twine around the neck of the bag to close it.
  • Using your compact disc, trace the outside and inner circle of the cd with your pencil on the black cardstock. Cut out both circles with your scissors.
  • Use a compass to create the top of the witch’s hat. Place the point of the compass at the corner of the black cardstock. Draw a quarter of a circle with a radius of 5 inches. Cut along the line.
  • Twist cardstock into a cone shape. Use double-sided tape to adhere the sides together.
  • Use a hole punch to punch two holes, directly opposite of each other, on each side of the inner circle of the brim. Punch two holes on opposing sides of the bottom of the cone that match up with the brim holes.
  • Starting at the bottom, pull the remaining twine through the holes of the brim. Then pull the twine through the holes in the cone from the inside to the outside. Wrap the twine as many times as you can around the hat and tie a bow to secure the ends.
  • Place the hat on top of the cello bag, making sure the excess cellophane goes through the hole in the brim of the hat.
  • Cut out two black 1/2” squares from your remaining cardstock and adhere with double-sided tape to the “face” of the witch!
