fun food favors

Favors may be small gifts, but they send a big message. They express your gratitude and appreciation to your guests and are keepsakes of your special event. Food favors add a wonderful, personal touch to your event and are a great way to stay within your budget.

Share a favorite family recipe with your extended family. Make spaghetti sauce, jam, or salsa in a large batch and bottle individually for your guests. Or think drink for your favors. Personalized wine bottles or beer from a local microbrewery are currently very popular. Or choose a food favor to go with the theme of your event, such as tea for an afternoon or garden event, breadsticks for a Tuscan theme, or even caramel apples for an event in the Fall.

Give your favors a unique look by creating personal labels. Choose papers that match your event colors and add your names, monogram, or a picture for a special touch. Then cut to size and affix to the favor with double-sided adhesive. Candy and cookies can be placed in glassine bags or tins which protect them but still show off the goodies inside. Favors are traditionally placed at each table setting, so consider having your favors double as place cards by personalizing each label with a guest’s name.

Whatever food favor you choose, it is sure to be appreciated and remembered. Whether your favor makes it to the car is a different story though, as most guests can’t resist the urge to nibble!
