With the holiday season just on the horizon, local businesses are offering a variety of classes to help you prepare.

Broadway Paper (191 N. Broadway, 414-277-7699, broadwaypaper.com) gets you started with a focus on presentation. With the help of Linda Southern, on Nov. 3 you can learn basic calligraphy skills to make your greeting cards and invitations classy and timeless ($50). Once you've mastere that, you can move on to gift wrapping. On Nov. 10 and Dec. 1, you'll learn to wrap presents like the pros and get tips on wrapping tricky items ($45). But no beautiful wrapping job is complete without a touching card. on Nov. 17 and Dec. 15, you can put your newfound calligraphy skills to work and learn to make custom holiday greeting cards, tags and invitations ($50).
