from classic to contemporary

for trends in invitations, the velum and ribbon look that was popular
a few years ago is being replaced with a more modern design, says
Tracie Stier-Johnson, owner of Broadway Paper. "People are
going for more clean lines, bright colors, really a classic, fun
look," she says.

Save-the-date
cards have become really popular lately, says Tracie Stier-Johnson,
owner of Broadway Paper. They can be done simply or with more of
a creative flair. For instance, some couples create a mini-calendar
with the wedding date circled, ,while others put a little personalized
story on it about how they met and fell in love. "They're fun,
unique things," she says.
There is a practical reason for sending save-the-date cards: It
may be risky to assume that guests will be free with just six weeks'
notice. Plus, says Stier-Johnson, "You're excited and you want
to announce that you're getting married.
